Are you ready for a more truthful astrology?
True Astrology brings astrology back into alignment with the scientifically backed knowledge of astronomy, forming one common view of the sky.
A verifiable view, which yields clear and indisputable observations of the Sun, Moon and planets as they move through the cosmos.
Astrology has been steeped in misunderstanding, confusion and superstition for a very long time. It is discussed routinely as though it is entirely separate from the scientific discipline of astronomy, and treated as either a harmless diversion or an outright fiction by the scientific community. Neither view does justice to what astrology, properly understood and correctly applied, actually is. The separation between astrology and astronomy is not a natural one. It is a historical accident, and it has produced two and a half millennia of charts, readings and predictions built on a map of the sky that no longer corresponds to the observable sky above you.
True Astrology begins with a single, uncompromising principle. The sky is observable. The positions of the Sun, Moon and planets within the constellations are measurable. Any astrological system worth serious attention must align with what can actually be seen, confirmed and verified. If it does not, it is working from a fiction, however ancient and however elaborately constructed that fiction may be.
A Historical Consideration
Before exploring what true Astronomical Astrology is, it helps to understand how the current situation came about and why the correction it offers is so overdue.
Consider the state of astronomy before Copernicus. For over a thousand years, the dominant model of cosmology placed Earth at the centre of the universe. The Sun, Moon, planets and stars all revolve around the Earth. This geocentric model was not held by ignorant people. It was defended by serious thinkers, embedded in religious and other learned institutions, and supported by elaborate mathematical systems designed to make the observations fit the theory. When the observations did not quite fit, additional corrections were added, such as epicycles, to preserve the central assumption. The model grew increasingly complex, but the central assumption of an Earth centred model remained untouched.
Copernicus did not discover anything that could not have been seen; the evidence was in the sky. What he did was place the Sun where it actually belonged, at the centre of the Solar System, then allow everything else to be recalculated from that corrected foundation. The result was not merely a different model. It was a more accurate one, and its accuracy could be tested against observation.
The situation in astrology today bears a striking resemblance to pre-Copernican astronomy. The dominant systems, tropical astrology in particular, are built on a premise established more than 2,000 years ago, when the spring equinox coincided with the Sun’s position in the constellation of Aries. That reference point has not been updated. Due to the precession of the equinoxes, the sky has shifted by approximately 23 degrees such that the vernal equinox now falls in Pisces. A tropical astrology chart drawn today places the Sun in a constellation that the sky does not confirm, working from a celestial map that reflects the ancient world rather than the present one.
Like the geocentric model, tropical astrology has not been without its defenders, its internal corrections and its elaborate justifications. But the question remains the same one that Copernicus posed: Does the model match the observable sky? For tropical astrology, the honest answer is that it does not. For Astronomical Astrology, it does.
What Astronomy and Astrology Actually Share
The modern separation between astronomy and astrology is so complete that it can be difficult to remember they were, for most of human history, the same discipline. The astronomers of the ancient world were also its astrologers. Hipparchus, who first identified the precession of the equinoxes in 129 BCE, was working in the service of both a scientific and an interpretive tradition. Ptolemy, whose second-century star catalogue remained the authoritative reference in European astronomy for over a millennium, also wrote the Tetrabiblos, a foundational text of Western astrology. These were not separate men doing separate work. They were the same men, doing what was then understood as the same work.
The split came gradually, accelerating through the scientific revolution of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, as astronomy moved towards mathematical precision while astrology retained its interpretive and symbolic character. By the time Newton had described gravity and Kepler had mapped the elliptical orbits of the planets, astronomy had become a science and astrology was left behind as something that scientists felt no need to engage with, as it did not reflect the scientific accuracy of astronomy.
The consequence of that split is the situation you find today. Astronomy maps the sky with extraordinary precision, tracking the positions of every planet, star and constellation to fractions of a degree. Astrology assigns people to star signs based on a calendar system that has not been updated since the Roman Empire. The two disciplines are using the same names for the constellations but referring to entirely different locations in the sky.
Astronomical Astrology closes that gap. It takes from Astrology an understanding that the ambient energies of the Solar System interact with and influence the human being, and grounds it in the actual, observable, astronomically verified positions of the celestial bodies. The result is a reunification of what should never have been separated.
Where Conventional Astrology Loses Its Way
Three quantifiable problems separate conventional astrology from the observable sky. The first is precession. As detailed in the dedicated article on this subject, Earth’s slow wobble of its rotational axis is causing a drift in the location of the vernal equinox each year.
The second problem is constellation dimensions, which also has a dedicated article focusing on the effects of the constellation dimensions. Conventional astrology, whether tropical or sidereal, divides the sky into twelve equal segments of 30 degrees each. The actual constellations of the zodiac vary considerably in size, resulting in the sun spending unequal time in each. A third issue follows that the ecliptic passes through thirteen constellations, not twelve. The details of the omitted constellation of Ophiuchus are also covered in this same article.
While tropical astrology suffers from both of these problems, Sidereal astrology addresses the precession problem by adjusting its dates forward over time. This brings it considerably closer to astronomical reality than tropical astrology achieves. However, both forms of astrology retain the equal 30-degree division and the twelve-sign structure, leaving the second and third problems in place. Astronomical Astrology is the only system which addresses all three to align fully with the observable sky.
What You Have Always Believed
If you have spent your life identifying with a particular star sign, the information here may be disorienting at first. The Life Force Institute understands this, and Astronomical Astrology does not dismiss the experience you have built around your existing sign.
The identity you have formed around a star sign over years or decades has a genuine influence on how you experience life, because sustained belief and self-reference create their own energetic patterns. You may well exhibit characteristics of the sign you have always believed yourself to be. Astronomical Astrology does not negate that. What it adds is a more precise layer beneath it, the actual astronomical conditions encoded at your birth, which your subconscious reactions are likely to reflect, whether you are aware of them or not.
When you uncover the qualities of the constellation that Astronomical Astrology assigns, it may elicit a recognition that your conventional sign never quite managed. Patterns of reaction that never quite fitted the standard description suddenly begin to make sense.
You Can Verify This Yourself
One of the most important features of Astronomical Astrology is that the locations of the Sun, the Moon and the planets are all directly verifiable as detailed in a corresponding article. This verification with the observable universe is not possible for either conventional form of astrology.
The Life Force Institute encourages you to make this check yourself. The dedicated article on validation walks you through the method in detail, including how to use an astronomical ephemeris for a more thorough independent check if you prefer that route. The point is that you are not being asked to take any of this on faith. The sky is there. The tools to read it are in your pocket. The evidence is available to you to directly confirm the position of Astronomical Astrology.
Your Astrological Key Code
Apart from the mathematical precision of celestial motion, Astronomical Astrology proposes that the Sun, the Moon, the planets of the Solar System and all constellations carry specific energy and influence. These energies are real, ambient fields that interact continuously with the body, mind, Life Force and emotions of every person alive. You are not separate from the Solar System. You exist within it as part of the Universal Force, and you are affected by these celestial bodies in ways that are consistent, measurable and, once understood, entirely navigable.
The key insight is that the Sun, Moon and planets do not send you specific emotions or dictate specific events. Their presence amplifies and modulates energies that you then process according to your own constitution. If the energy associated with Mars inclines towards aggression in its less favourable expression, a person in good physical and psychological balance may instead experience that same energy as drive, decisiveness and strength. The energy itself is consistent. What varies is how you meet it.
This is why two people born under the same Sun sign can appear quite different in character, and why the same planetary transit can produce markedly different responses in everyone. Every person alive carries an astrological key code, encoded at the moment of birth by the precise configuration of the Solar System at that instant. The constellation behind the Sun at that moment, your Sun sign under Astronomical Astrology, establishes the dominant energetic character of your constitution. But the Sun sign is only the opening chapter. The positions of the Moon and every planet in the Solar System at the moment of your birth each contribute their own layer of influence, each within its own constellation, each adding specificity to the overall pattern.
The energies present at your birth are not the only influences you will ever encounter, but they establish the baseline frequencies to which you are most naturally attuned. When the current positions of the planets resonate with those frequencies, your responses intensify. Understanding this is the beginning of genuine self-knowledge, not fatalism, but cartography.
Exploring True Astrology
This section of the website addresses each dimension of Astronomical Astrology in turn. A Scientific Approach introduces the energetic framework and explains how the ambient forces of the Solar System interact with the human being. The article on Astronomical Astrology sets out the full system, including the extended zodiac of 18 constellations and the distinction between tropical, sidereal and astronomical methods. Understanding the Precession of the Equinoxes covers the history and celestial mechanics of Earth’s axial wobble in detail, from Hipparchus to the present day. The Effects of Constellations Dimensions explains why equal-division systems fail and how the IAU boundaries produce a more accurate picture. Encoded at Birth explores the astrological key code in depth, covering the role of each planet and its contribution to your individual energetic blueprint. Validating Astronomical Astrology gives you the practical tools to verify the system’s claims independently. The Astrological Sign Dates provides a comparative table of tropical, sidereal and astronomical dates for all primary constellations, so you can see precisely where the systems diverge and what that means for you.
Each article stands on its own, but they are also designed to be read as a connected body of work. The more you understand about the mechanics of the sky, the precession of the equinoxes, the true dimensions of the constellations and the nature of the astrological key code, the more clearly you will see how Astronomical Astrology differs from what has come before and why that difference matters.
A More Truthful Astrology
The comparison with Copernicus is instructive, though what he proposed as a theoretical model could not be directly verified by ordinary people in his lifetime. The corrections offered by Astronomical Astrology requires no such trust. You can open an astronomy app on your smartphone now, point it at the sky and see for yourself whether the Sun, Moon and planets are where Astronomical Astrology says they are. They will be. You can also confirm it through direct observation of the sky, visiting a planetarium or using an ephemeris – the answer will be consistent every time.
What The Life Force Institute offers is an astrological system grounded in direct observation, astronomical precision and a genuine understanding of how the energies of the cosmos interact with you. True Astronomical Astrology invites you to look at the actual sky, understand what you are seeing and begin working with the real conditions of your own birth, clearly, honestly and with your eyes open.
That is what a more truthful astrology looks like.
