Distinguishing Ego from Intuition

As you progress on the spiritual path, a crucial challenge arises: how do you know whether guidance comes from genuine intuition or from ego masquerading as wisdom? The ego can be remarkably sophisticated, masking its desires in spiritual language and creating elaborate justifications. True discernment requires honest self-inquiry and a willingness to question even your most cherished insights. Without this awareness, you risk being controlled by unconscious patterns rather than guided by authentic wisdom.

Intuitive guidance typically feels spacious, peaceful and unattached to specific outcomes, while ego-driven thoughts often carry urgency, fear, or a sense of superiority. Learning to distinguish between these voices is not about achieving perfection but developing an increasingly refined sensitivity to the quality of different inner experiences. This skill deepens through practice, through examining the fruits of your choices and through acknowledgement when you have mistaken ego for essence. By cultivating this discernment, you gain greater clarity and control over your spiritual journey, empowering you to make choices aligned with your authentic self rather than reactive patterns. This practice leads to more truthful experiences and a deeper connection to your inner knowledge.

Conquer Inner Demons on Your Awakening Journey

On the path of awakening, you’ll face challenges, many of which may not be immediately obvious; some subtle and others more pronounced. Your thoughts and emotions play a crucial role in this journey, but certain emotions, like fear, arrogance, rage, despondency, jealousy, and greed, fuel the lower ego, taking control of your life and creating significant obstacles. Recognising and addressing these lower emotions within yourself is crucial. By consciously bringing them under control and actively banishing them, you prevent them from empowering your lower ego and regaining control over your life. This practice enables you to progress on your awakening journey, fostering greater authenticity and strengthening your path forward.

The Key to a Healthy Awakening

Suppressing negative thoughts and emotions may seem like a quick fix, but it can be harmful to your growth on your spiritual journey. Suppressing emotions, especially negative ones, can hinder your journey of awakening, meditation, or attunement. These suppressed emotions don’t disappear; they remain hidden in your subconscious. Then as your Life Force energy increases, it can amplify these buried emotions and associated feelings, potentially leading to explosive outbursts and unintended consequences. By acknowledging and processing emotions rather than suppressing them, you prevent them from festering and causing future harm. This practice of emotional honesty empowers you to move forward on your path with greater authenticity, truthfulness, and emotional freedom, preventing future turmoil and promoting a more balanced awakening.

Connect with Your True Self Through Meditation

Meditation comes in many forms, but at its core, it’s about anchoring your mind in the present moment instead of being lost in past regrets or projecting into the future. This practice empowers you to master your mind and connect with your highest self. By cultivating awareness through meditation, you gain greater self-awareness, clarity, and inner peace, leading to a more authentic, truthful, and fulfilling life aligned with your true potential.

Take a Hike

Walking has been used as a conduit for spiritual development for thousands of years. More recently, people have begun to rediscover the simple pleasure of walking and have found it illuminating. A walk can be incorporated into a break at work or at other times of the day. If you are feeling stressed, taking a walk can usually ease the pressure, often bringing a new perspective to the situation. Just getting up and taking a short walk around the block can diffuse a situation and can have a beneficial impact on your day.

The simple act of going for a walk, enables you to have a change of scenery, often enabling you to be more mindful or take a different perspective. As you walk, try to be more aware of the sensations within your body, such as the movement of your feet or arms as well as your breathing. You can also be more mindful of the world around you, hearing the sounds which continually waft into your ears, the temperature of the air on your face and the smells which fill your nostrils. So why not take some time out and go take a hike into the outdoors and avail yourself of the opportunity to be more mindful, to take a break and refocus on the important things in life.

A Life’s Journey

As you continue forward on your sojourn on planet Earth, strive for true understanding and harmlessness to manifest through you. True harmlessness works through right thought governed by active intellect; right speech, governed by self-control, which manifests into right action. This inevitably leads to a higher expression of yourself into your everyday life.

As you do, you will find your own life to be meaningful, and at the same time, perhaps you can bring others along the same path of illumement.
