Do Not Be too Negative

Often a lot of emphasis nowadays is placed on things being negative; without understanding it is how you act, which is the key. It is important to understand that negative energies are part of the universe and part of the circle of life; as night is to day, or ying is to yang. Realise that negative energies exist and are necessary to maintain the balance in the Universe. Knowing that there is a natural flow of energy from negative to positive to form a complete circuit, in the same way that the field of a magnet flows from north to south and then back through the body of the magnet.

The key to understanding negativity is how you react to life and living. You can choose to react to negative energies and become involved in the emotional consequences. Alternatively, you can pause, keep your balance, and choose not to react. In effect, you are staying neutral to the negative influences.

Do Not Let Emotions Win

Do not let emotions win to control you and ruin your life. You should strive to let go of any negative emotions so that they do not become a controlling factor in your life.

If at all possible any feelings of unhappiness should not be allowed to exist within you at any time. All situations you are going through in your life, in the workplace or home, wherever possible, should be observed and understood as being experiences for learning.

Try to be an observer of emotions as they spill into your life, rather than being drowned in the torrent of thoughts and feelings which arise as a result of “playing the game”.

Be Purposeful

Be purposeful with your Mindfulness – as it is not about slowing down or speeding up!

A mindful practise is about doing things on purpose and with purpose. Sometimes you may speed up, other time you may slow down – it is about the balance and being mindful of the circumstance in which you find yourself at any given time. So take the time to be purposeful with your mindfulness endeavours.

Reducing Causality

Containment can be a very effective tool to assist you in reducing Causality (or aspects of Karma) in your life. Containment describes thoughts and actions which are proactively taken to reduce the causality (effects or reactions from some other event or occurrence) in your life. To apply containment, you will need to contemplate some of the potential consequences or ramifications of your thoughts, actions, inactions or other events which are occurring at any point in time.

The key aspect of containment is to apply active intellect and some common-sense in whatever you do. So rather than immediately reacting to stimuli, pause for a moment to consider your various courses of action, before proceeding. The judicious application of containment can lead to a happier life with less causality.

Dealing with Strong Emotions

One of the most commonly asked questions is how can meditation or similar practices help deal with strong damaging emotions, such as anger, hatred, and jealousy.

The good news is, that if you are asking the question, you are already part of the way to the answer. The fact that you have asked the question indicates that you may have been sufficiently mindful and observant to notice the negative states of your mind.  Which, by the way, is not an easy accomplishment. Most people are entirely absorbed in their emotions and have limited self-awareness. Generally, those who ask this question have noticed what is happening in their minds as they were being swept into a whirlwind of negative emotions.

The best course of action is that you need to learn to become the master of your mind as well as your emotions. The moment that you feel a strong emotion building, first pause so that you can regain control and not fall into the pending onslaught of emotions, thoughts and feelings. Once you have paused the reactionary processes of your mind, the most effective choice is not to participate. In effect, you do not want that emotion or that emotional reaction to be a part of you. If you feel sufficiently in control, you may take the time to observe the emotion, but always push those emotional aspects away as you do not want them to become part of your life. Applying aspects of Life Force Cognition can help to bring greater control to your mind to help you deal with such situations.

To Yourself Be Kind

Busy in our lives, we often forget about all of the small things. Take the opportunity to celebrate your life and the achievements you make daily.

Strive to be kind to yourself, do not dwell on the things which you could have done better.  Instead, look at what you have achieved and reward your achievements.  If there is a possibility for improvement, then use this time wisely to acknowledge the learning opportunity which is being presented.

Remember your achievements and keep their memories alive, as they can give you strength for when challenges invariably appear in your life. Live your life with awareness, as you are who you choose to be.
