Your Digital Persona

In an increasingly connected world, we are all affected by our presence of social media.  On social media, you are open to the thoughts, emotions and feelings of others who may follow you, like your posts, make comments or otherwise engage with your digital persona. It is increasingly easy to be influenced and affected by others through an increasingly complex web of interactions which happen almost instantly across the globe.

What you share online is your choice and your responsibility. Once you have posted it online, it is out there, forever. You may be able to limit who sees your updates, pictures, comments and the like, but it is still worth giving some thought to how posts can affect your life, that of your family or others.

Realise that these aspects flow in multiple directions, what you post affects or influence others as what you see affects or influences you.  Over time, what is posted by you and about you build up this false illusion of you, as this digital entity. Over time this digital entity can grow of form its own illusion, which in some cases can become larger or more overwhelming than the originator.  Always strive to be kind and considerate to others, never posting anything online which you would be unwilling to say directly to the person themselves.

Be Mindful with Attention

Many of us have embarked upon a mindfulness journey with the desire to relieve stress or achieve some calmness in our lives. Applying mindfulness, to pay attention to the present moment gives you the opportunity to be observant of your own thoughts, feelings and emotions, as well as aspects of the world around you.

A key principle of any mindful practice you undertake should provide you with the means to direct your attention to where it is needed.

What are Kickstarter Activities?

Kickstarter Activities (KIAs) are introductory self-guided exercises or classes by The Life Force Institute. Each activity skilfully combines aspects of mindfulness and meditative techniques in a progressive step-by-step process, which is designed to lead you through the activity. When you complete any activity, there is guidance on the expected outcome, how to evaluate your experiences, and what is necessary to ensure success when undertaking each activity.

We recommend that you start with the first five or ten “fundamental” Kickstarter Activities (KIAs), as these self-guided exercises or classes have been designed to introduce you to the methodology, theory and practices of The Life Force Institute. We have combined these fundamental activities in two special bundles, which are available to purchase and download from our webshop.
